The Bacău Emergency County Hospital (SJU Bacău) has commissioned a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, a Siemens MAGNETOM Altea 1.5 Tesla, installed at the hospital’s Radiology and Medical Imaging Laboratory within its outpatient department.
Hospital representatives said the new system will allow complex imaging examinations to be performed using high-resolution images and improved diagnostic accuracy. The equipment is also expected to reduce examination times, increase the hospital’s imaging capacity and improve patient comfort.
“The new MRI system represents an important step forward for the medical imaging services of the Bacău Emergency County Hospital. Its technological performance allows us to provide high-quality examinations and respond more efficiently to patients’ needs. For us, however, technology is a tool through which we can improve medical care, while the ultimate goal remains the same: the most accurate diagnosis possible and the best possible care for the patient,” said Dr. Bogdan Niță, head of the hospital’s Radiology and Medical Imaging Laboratory.
SJU Bacău manager Ion Marius Savin said the investment is part of the hospital’s broader modernization program and is aimed at improving access to advanced medical services for the local population.
“Modernizing the Bacău Emergency County Hospital means, above all, investments that can be seen and felt in the benefit of patients. The installation of the new MRI system is an important step in developing medical imaging services and increasing the community’s access to advanced medical technology. We want patients from Bacău and the surrounding region to be able to benefit from modern medical services as close to home as possible,” Savin said.
According to the hospital, the new MRI system is available to patients seeking care through the outpatient department and complements the facility’s existing medical imaging equipment.
The investment is expected to contribute to faster and more accurate diagnoses and to improving the overall quality of medical services provided by the county hospital.
