Nature and hiking enthusiasts in Bacău County are invited to discover a new trail in the Măgura area. Called “Măgura Trails”, the route covers approximately 11.2 kilometers and will be officially inaugurated on Saturday, September 19, starting at 9 a.m.
The announcement was made by Costraș Iordache, mayor of Măgura, who invited local residents and hiking enthusiasts to join the first organized walk along the newly established route.
The trail is fully marked and includes two designated rest areas, allowing hikers to take a break and enjoy the surrounding landscape.
One of the main attractions is located at the edge of the forest, toward Sohodol, where a viewing platform has been built. From this point, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding area.
“We will walk approximately 11.2 kilometers through a landscape straight out of a storybook, along a fully marked trail where we have also created two rest areas. But an even greater surprise awaits you as you leave the forest toward Sohodol, where we have built a viewing point offering an absolutely spectacular panorama,” the mayor said.
According to Costraș Iordache, the new trail is expected to attract nature lovers and hikers looking for an alternative to the noise and fast pace of everyday life.
“I am convinced that this trail will attract thousands of people who love nature, fresh air and hiking, because it offers an alternative to the hustle and noise of everyday life and to all the devices that keep us constantly connected,” he said.
The “Măgura Trails” project was made possible through the involvement of the Bacău Forestry Directorate, the “Via Bacovia” Association and Pambac.
Participants in Saturday’s inauguration are advised to come properly equipped for an approximately 11-kilometer hike.
The meeting point is “Ferenț”, the terminus of the bus line on Valea Măgurii, which will also serve as the starting point for the inaugural hike.
The organizers are inviting residents and visitors alike to discover the natural landscape of Măgura and experience a new outdoor destination in the Bacău area.
