Bacău to Host Romanian National Karting Championship Round This Weekend

Bacău, Romania – The Speed Park circuit in Bacău will host the fourth round of the 2026 Romanian National Karting Championship from August 7 to 9, welcoming drivers from across the country for the only championship event scheduled at the venue this season.

The competition, organized by the Romanian Karting Federation, marks the fourth of six rounds in this year’s national championship calendar. With Bacău hosting the series only once in 2026, the event is expected to attract strong interest from competitors and motorsport fans alike.

The national championship returns to Speed Park just one week after the circuit staged the fifth round of the Romanian Karting Masters, underlining the venue’s growing importance on Romania’s karting calendar.

Six competition classes will be represented during the weekend. The Pufo category currently has the largest entry list, with 12 drivers confirmed, although additional registrations are still possible before the start of the event.

Activities begin on Friday, August 7, with technical inspections and free practice sessions. Saturday, August 8, will feature official practice and qualifying heats, while Sunday, August 9, will include warm-up laps, the official drivers’ presentation and the two race heats in each category. The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. local time.

The 2026 Romanian National Karting Championship opened in mid-May at Târgu Secuiesc and will conclude on October 18 at Prejmer Raceway, where this season’s national champions will be crowned.
