A man aged about 58 died in a house fire that broke out on Friday in the town of Comănești, Bacău County, emergency authorities said.
Firefighters from the Bacău County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations responded to the blaze on Runcului Street with two fire engines, a multifunctional intervention vehicle, a SMURD emergency medical unit and an ambulance from the Bacău County Ambulance Service.
The fire was extinguished after destroying around 80 square metres of the house as well as an outbuilding.
During the intervention, emergency crews found the body of the 58-year-old man inside the residence.
Two women suffered panic attacks as a result of the incident and were taken to hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
According to preliminary findings by firefighters, the most likely cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
